The 33rd China International Furniture Fair (Guangzhou) opens on March 18th. The organizer China Foreign Trade Centre (Group), as China exhibition industry’s leader with 57 years of successful history , releases the sensational news at the opening：Since 2015 the annual CIFF September show held in Guangzhou will be shifted to China Expo Complex in Shanghai. Thus, in the near future CIFF will be held at Guangzhou in March and at Shanghai in September.
Mr. Wang Yanhua, Vice President of China Foreign Trade Centre (Group) gives the introduction as follows: Jointly built by China Foreign Trade Centre (Group) and Shanghai Eastbest Group, China Expo Complex in Hongqiao, Shanghai will be completed and put into use by the end of 2014. The completion of the project will optimize the layout of China’s exhibition industry and thoroughly ease the undersupply of large-scale exhibition space in Yangtze River Delta area.

Thanks to the gracious support by the furniture associations, enterprises and all the supportive parties, CIFF has been one of the world’s most prestigious furniture exhibition brands. With the transfer of the September show to Shanghai, we will offer more favorable conditions and professional services for participants, and contribute to the leapfrog development of China's furniture industry.

First, marketization of China’s exhibition industry is an irreversible trend
In the Resolution of the Third Plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee that “the government must have the market play a decisive role in allocating resources and performing the better supportive functions.” Since the exhibition industry is a fully competitive industry, prices are determined by supply and demand and the market rule is made by the free competition. Currently, the relevant authorities of central and local governments are in the process of transforming government functions. Efforts are made to decentralize, transfer or cancel the overmuch items of government review and approval, resulting in less direct intervention of administrative power in micro-economy and more vitality unleashed in the market. As for the exhibition industry, the projects with government background would be reduced; the nationwide industrial organization would be built; the reform of exhibition approval procedures and management would be completed. The market is playing a decisive role in China's exhibition industry and a more efficient, fair and sustainable exhibition market will come into being.
